I think this is the very right thing to do in AP now. Not sure if it ever happened in the Indian history where the ruling party members boycott Governor’s speech. Central government did a very right thing by installing Narasimhan as governor who is capable of conducting sub-polls in free and efficient manner.
I am not sure who is gaining advantage with all the things happening now in AP, but for sure the loosers are going to be students. Not sure why there are failing to understand that they are used by politicians for their own cause. As I mentioned in my earlier posts, government has every right to teach them a lesson for their good by cancelling their scholarships.
Let the Sri Krishna comity finish their job and see what the out come.
In last one month we have seen violence in different forms in the state of AndhraPradesh as part of separate telangana hesitation. I am not going to delve into the matter of separate telangana movement. But my concerns is over the political parties latest demand for lifting of police cases over the students and political activists for the violence they had committed. With the recent sound bites from government sources, its clear that government is seriously thinking of actually lifting all those cases.
My one direct question to media and judiciary is why the cases should be lifted? When the culprits deliberately committed crime by destroying public and private properties. As a tax payer I am paying taxes for developing infrastructures in this country and the state of AndhraPradesh but one political reason destroys everything and worse no one gets punished for all the mindless destruction.
Let me clear one thing here, I am not pro or anti telangana. Separate telangana is something that is beyond my understanding and I am not going comment on that in this post. My concern is why the criminals are not getting punished? What government and judiciary is doing?
I fully support this and I want this to happen at the national level. I appreciate Mr. Modi for up taking this cause and forcing people to vote. The only concern I have, there must be an option in ballot paper enabling voter to not to choose any candidate.
Recent events of MNS activists stopping screening of a movie for just referring the city with its old name Bombay. Then the movie producer Karan Johar marching to MNS boss’s house to apologize for the “mistake” and accepting to show a apology slide at the beginning of the movie. So the issue looks resolved for now. But still I am wondering whose city is this anyway, not sure if someone gave all the rights to MNS on the city and the people live there. This issue of local goons forming political parties and holding governments ransom by triggering region/religion sentiments has reached unacceptable levels, there should be a stop for all this . At least first media should stop telecasting their “heroics” and stop taking the goon’s interviews. Take the example of so called national news channels lining up outside Raj Thakary’s house for an interview, just before state polls. Its disgusting that the people/channels who claim that they are working with social responsibility, decide to telecast a goon’s interview at prime time represents what kind of social responsibility.
Anyways what good the name of a city brings to its people. Even after changing Bombay name to Mumbai people of “maximum city” live like cattle in slums and travel like cattle in the over crowded public transportation and year after year they suffer the same fate in monsoon. No one bothers to find a solution to these problems but they are more concerned about the name of the city and the language the shop boards are written. Saddest part is that these goon’s and the political parties they form control considerable part of Indian electorate.
After reading this news in news papers today I am shell shocked. I know this is not anything new every year it happens and the rotten grains were dumped in sea previously also. But looking the figure I did a small math and found that 0.5 Kg per head of the indian population. Nearly 30% of the indian population is under nutritional and 7% of the indian kids die because of under nutrition, this is very big thing.
The only reason for this wastage is improper maintenance of storage facilities. We boost our self for building a nuclear sub marine and IBMs, but we cannot find a way to stop wastage of food and feed the hungry people. We all are bunch of hypocrites and we elect best among us to govern us, what a shame. Where is the pride of being an indian?
The given below given is taken from 25th Feb,2008 edition of outlook if you closely observe the snippet says something about “Telugu Rashtriya Samiti” and its chief K Chandrashekar Rao
. To the best of my understanding there was/is no party with the name “Telugu Rashtriya Samiti”(TRS). Its actually “Telengana Rashtriya Samiti”. Not sure how a popular magazine like OUTLOOK can make such a mistake.
Less than a year back in the far west one man said rather shouted that he wants change and the whole world looked at that man with awe and great hope in this difficult times. Yeah I don’t have to tell who is that man and what he is doing now. But the point is in India are we are not yet ready to change, noo…. not that fast. We are still tossing ideas what really need to be changed in this country and its people. Well I came up with a list not that I represent you all but I am just tossing my one more idea
1) I want a change the way we think.
2) I want a change in the way we live. I don’t have to say, now we live with total hopelessness.
3) As individuals we all are responsible, but when come to nation we all form a group of very very irresponsible citizens.
4) We better stop hating ourselves. Enough hate already around.
5) Less talk and more action for a change.
6) We change by start respecting/accepting our strength and start admitting our weakness.
Last week there was a very good news that Mr. Nilekani is joining union government with the rank of cabinet minister. This is what I was asking ever since UPA formed the government with considerable number strength. Installing a person like Nilekani in such a important position is very right and well done in that aspect, but guess Mr. Nilekani only going well administrate project, what about the implementation of the project at the core level. Most of the government’s ambitious projects failed because there is no one to implement them as intended. Its just because of our infamous bureaucracy and the rotten methods they use to do their job. That’s why I am hopping government will at least this time choose to bypass bureaucracy and leave this important task of administering and implementing the project in the very capable hands of Mr. Nilekani. I am also hoping that Mr. Singh will bring some more non-politicos into his cabinet to do some good.
Best of luck Mr. Nilekani.
In my opinion its the right decision and I appreciate UPA government for doing this, I hope they still to this decision. I heard the comments by Mr. Karath, he wants to resolve the naxals issue by political discussions what as joke it is. I think in India we are trying to do the same for last 40+ years, since naxalite movement started. May be 20 years or 30 years back they were radical political group with different ideas for the good of people. But today they are more like terrorists than the groups of people with good intentions. They are lost in their own ideology and in the process of trying to find their ground they started hitting at the people who they think they are protecting, the best example is the rejection to any kind of development.
I heard a lot of stories about REC(now NIT) and medical students turning into naxalites with the intention of helping people, and they used help people for sure. But now its more of protecting themselves from the same people and of course government. Simple saying naxalites lost their cause and their rotten ideology is no more good for people.
Yesterday I was watching the Dhoni’s media conference and the verbal battle took place between the media and captain. The media was
literally attacking to irritate him in the hope of getting some much wanted sensational and breaking news from him. Sadly, I think they
failed to get any breaking news from his mouth, but still they were able to roll a breaking news, about Dhoni’s standoffish
behavior.(standoffish:Lacking cordiality; unfriendly, I had to look at oxford to get the exact meaning). With this episode they again
proved me right, that the whole media is in the business of making news under the cover of so called social responsibility.
Every time the story is simple, they will cook a story and make it a breaking news. Then they go to parties “included” in the
cooked story and ask for clarifications, if the person dragged into the story gets irritated or say something, which is not just polite
then they roll one more breaking news about so called person’s rudeness to words media. They will not stop that breaking news until
that person apologizes to the whole media. Not sure where is the social responsibility in this whole news making business.
Well this seems the question everywhere now a days. They officially chose Shushma Swaraj as their deputy leader in lok sabha and they have Mr. Arun Jaitley as their leader in Rajya Sabha, not sure if they follow congress foot steps and nominate their leader in Rajya sabha as their PM candidate. In that case Mr. Arun Jaitley would be the PM candidate, but I really doubt it. Because Mr. Jaitly is really not a crowd puller, just like Mr. M Singh and does not enjoy support from party or RSS. It was easy for Mr. Singh because he has the full support of First Family of this country( Sorry I restrained myself calling it Royal family) and every one in congress had no option than support Mr. Singh. But in party like BJP, its very very very hard to get support of everyone, especially support from RSS.
I can think of few names like Sushma Swaraj, Arun Jaitley, Narendra Modi and Rajnath Singh. As the present head of the party, may be Rajnath singh gets the high priority and also it seems he got the support of RSS, the second contender would be Narendra Modi but I am not sure how people will react when they have to compare him with soft spoken Mr. Manmohan Singh. Next is Sushma Swaraj, not sure if she can get any support from RSS or from party. Out of these four Mr.Jaitley has the least chances to become party’s PM candidate.
In my opinion Rajnath Singh has the high chances of becoming parties PM candidate in next general elections.
The latest breaking news in media is about the Punjab riots and the visuals of burning trains and fearless violent crowd on streets. My first reaction after seeing these visuals is wohh.. all those who are rioting so fearlessly on streets are teenagers or kids, its like they are spending their summer vacations in adventures way(if I may say that). Funny part is when the rioters were wearing a 4 feet knife, the so called riot police are facing them with same length sticks.
May be I am stupid but I still cannot understand what triggered these riots, yes I know some one killed some one very important on the other side of the world for some personal reasons. So, why riots what are they trying to prove by burning private and public property. It looks like now a days all people need to come on streets is some reason, but sadly they are always choosing the wrong reason and wrong method to demonstrate their protest.
The latest news from the NDAs camp is that they are going choose Mr.Advani as their leader in parliment. I guess they are making this move to avoid any immediate infight with in the party/aliance for choosing Advani’s successor, but this may backfire as they are just trying to postpone most invitable infight to accupy Mr. Advani’s place as parties PM candidate for the next general election. Instead they might have taken the though decision now, by giving some time to themself to fix everything with in the party/aliance and getting ready for the next elections.
Who ever may be the successor to Mr.Advani as partie’s/aliace’s PM candidate, its not going to be a simple job to fill the shoes left by a person with stature as Mr. Advani. I hope BJP now quickly learn how to be a good oppsistion in parliment, instead of being a typical indian oppsition by opposing evey move of governament, with out giving any thought or learning how good/bad it’s going to make to the people of this country.
What ever you may say or think about my statement, to me democracy stands for giving authority to people and respecting what ever the out come of that authority. We recently saw the results of 2009 general elections and how the rejected parties and people accepted the defeat quietly, including so called hard liners. There are many democracies we saw in recent times whose participants just could not accept the defeat and choose to protect the people’s verdict. But fortunately our democracy is not one of those and people and parties still stick to some basic principles of democracy, except for some insignificant people and parties who choose to air their views disregarding the people’s verdict.
To my knowledge in India people’s verdict was always respected, except for the times when emergency period declared by Mrs.Indira Gandhi. Though there are different theories about the tendency of the Indian voters voting based on the caste and region.
Now the results are out and UPA is going to form the governament with out having to look for any major post poll aliance. When I introspect this generel election results with my very limiitted knowledge of Indian politics, I have to accept that the Indian electorate again choose to give power to a single family not sure how good this is going to be for much boosted largest democracy on this planet. Though I am very happy that at least this time we are going to get a very stable governament, which is good for India as Mr. Singh at least this time need not to worry about now red faced left brigade. I am also hoping that by next general election communist parties are restricted to less than 10 seats in loksabha.
I am also very happy for Bihar and Orissa as electorate in those state choose to vote for development and not for some caste or religion, though I am very confised with the result of UP results, but onething I can see clearly is that the electorate is evolved into something that thinks and acts based on the facts. Overall I am very happy with these results and congratulate Mr.Singh for his fabulas win and expecting a lot from him this time as well. I alos hoping that he will be the PM for next 5 years, to avoid any rift between the UPA and congress leaders.

After seeing honest and successful persons(Shashi Tharror, Cpt. Gopinath and lot of more people) jumping into politics and contesting in this general election, I am seriously giving a thought to the advantages of changing the way we choose our government. After electing parties for 60+ years, we have gave them enough chance to prove their worth. But sadly they failed miserably by concentrating more on politics than on the job they supposed to do. I think its a good idea to give a chance to persons to serve us by giving them a freehand in choosing their cabinet just like in US by not restricting them to choose from elected members of the parliament. Then at least we can have someone in cabinet level who knows what they are talking.
Yes, I agree this change is virtually impossible in present political setup in India, as this needs lots and lots of constitutional amendments. But I still hope this happens for bringing us some good.
