When ever people call India a democracy, I ask my self is it really one. Ours is a country rules by a family for more than 40 years and looking at present political circumstances we will be ruled by same family at least for one more generation. Its just not the situation at the union level, its the case of more than half of the states in India(AP, Tamilnadu, Panjab, Orissa, Rajastan and many more).

according to the whole article, India actually fits as a democracy. Operationalisation of democracy is another issue. Problem is with people not knowing whom to elect…best amongst the worst is always the choice!
